Prerequisites

Before beginning the main exercises in this lab, we need to create an environment and a sample integration for our agent to use as a tool later on.

Create an Environment

tip

If you already have a Boomi environment with a runtime, you can skip this section and move on to the next section.

  1. After logging in, click on Integration.

  2. Click on Manage > Runtime Management.

  3. In Runtime Management, click + New ▼.

  4. Select Environment.

  5. Name your environment Agent Testing.

  6. Set the Environment Classification to Production.

  7. Click Save.

  8. Click + New ▼.

  9. Select Basic Runtime.

    • In the Cloud: selected
    • Choose a Cloud: USA East Integration Cloud (if you aren't in the US, choose whatever option is there.)
    • Attachment Name: Agent Testing Runtime
  10. Click OK.

  11. Locate your runtime in the left navigation pane.

  12. Click and Drag Agent Testing Runtime to your Agent Testing environment.

  13. Click Build at the top of the page to return to the Integration Canvas.

Create a Sample Integration to Update our CRM

  1. Navigate to Integration by clicking the waffle menu, and selecting Integration.

  2. Locate your folder in the left navigation pane.

    tip

    If you are doing this lab with an instructor, the folder will be in Participants → [Your workshop folder] → [Email Prefix] (john.doe@boomi.com → john.doe).

  3. Click the three dots on the right hand side of your folder name and select New Component.

    1. Choose Process from the dropdown.
    2. Click Create.
  4. Choose No Data and click OK.

  5. Click the + button on the canvas, search for Notify and select it.

  6. Configure the Notify step as follows:

    • Message: I am simulating an API call to the notification and event applications.
  7. Add a Stop step to the canvas.

  8. Your final process should look like this:

  9. Name your process [builderInitials] Notification and Escalations Integration.

  10. Click Save on your component.

  11. Click Create Packaged Component.

  12. Click Next: Add Details.

  13. Click Create Packaged Component.

  14. Click Deploy.

  15. Choose your Agent Testing environment from the dropdown.

  16. Click Next: Select Versions.

  17. Click Next: Review.

  18. Click Deploy.
